THE MARCH FOR OUR LIVES
CHECK OUT THE PRE-RALLY
Saturday, March 24th @ 9am
Silver Spring Civic Building
This exciting event, hosted by Jamie Raskin, will feature a special guest: Mary Beth Tinker, the plaintiff in the landmark case in which the Supreme Court determined that “students do not shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.” Spend the morning with local student leaders, Congressman Raskin, and Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh, who successfully defended Maryland’s Firearm Safety Act of 2013—which banned military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and mandated universal fingerprint licensing for handgun purchases—all the way to the Supreme Court.

ONWARD TO THE MARCH
From 1969, when Mary Beth wore a black armband to protest the Vietnam War to 2018, when students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School made their voices heard, student have led the way while our leaders stood by paralyzed. Students have once again broken down the walls of inaction to lead the charge against gun violence in their schools. Join us as we stand together with students from across the U.S. to advocate for changes to our gun laws and a better tomorrow. #NEVERAGAIN
